Build an inventory app for your shop with AI

We typed one paragraph into GenVibe, the way a hardware store owner would. In three and a half minutes it built a stock app with 26 example products, quick buttons for sales and deliveries, low-stock warnings and a reorder list with costs. It used 8.4 credits, about $0.84 at the smallest credit pack, the cheapest of our builds.

The prompt we typed

Written the way a shop owner would write it: no technical words. Change the names, prices and details to yours.

I own a small hardware store and I keep track of my stock in a notebook. I want a simple app where I can see all my products with how many I have, the price and which shelf they are on, search them, and add or take away stock when I sell something or a delivery comes in. It should warn me when something is running low and give me a list of what I need to reorder. Fill it with some example products so I can try it.

Opens on the Web App tab.

What GenVibe built

One message, no follow-ups. Everything below is the first build, as the AI made it.

  • A product list with 26 example hardware products: quantity, price, shelf (like “B1”), a stock bar and a label: in stock, running low or out of stock.
  • Totals at the top: products, units on the shelves, stock value and how many need reordering.
  • Search by name, shelf or code, filters by category and “Low only”, and sorting.
  • A − and + on every row for one sale or one delivery, and a “Sale / delivery” window for larger amounts that shows the count before and after.
  • A reorder list that suggests how many to order and the cost, with copy and print, and a “Received” button for when the delivery comes.
  • An activity log of every change, and add, edit or delete for your own products, each with its own warning level.
The stock list: totals for products, units, stock value and items to reorder, a low-stock banner, search, category filters and product rows with shelf, quantity, price and buttons
The stock list, with a warning that 7 products are low or out.
The Update stock window for an adjustable spanner: Sold or Delivery in, how many, and the count going from 4 to 3
Recording a sale: the window shows the count before and after.
The reorder list: products that are low or out, with suggested order amounts and costs, Received buttons, and a shopping list total of $732.90
The reorder list: what to order, how many and what it will cost.
The stock app on a phone screen with the totals and the product list
The same app on a phone, for counting stock in the aisles.

ModelClaude Sonnet 5.5, picked by Auto

Measured on October 29, 2026, from pressing send until the AI finished, on a paid account where Auto picked Claude Sonnet 5.5. The same prompt won't give the same app twice: the AI writes new code each time, and on a free account Auto may pick a different model, so the minutes and credits change from run to run. This build fits inside the 20 free credits every new account gets once, with no card. See pricing.

What is sample data, and how to make it real

The first build works on its own, with sample data, so you can click through it right away. These are the parts to switch on before real customers use it.

How to build your own inventory app

  1. 1

Open GenVibe on the Web App tab

Go to genvibe.pro and choose Web App above the message box.

  2. 2

    Describe your business

Paste the prompt from this page and change the names, services and prices to your own. Plain words work best.

  3. 3

    Watch it build

Press send. The AI plans the app, writes the code and shows it in a live preview. Ours took 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Change anything by chatting

Ask for changes in the chat, or click a part of the preview to point at it. Each change uses a few credits.

  5. 5

    Publish it

Press Publish, then Publish to GenVibe. The app goes live on a free genvibe.app address you can share; a custom domain needs a paid plan.

Good next messages

Send these one at a time after the first build. Each one changes the app in place.

  • Here is my product list from my spreadsheet: (paste it). Replace the examples.
  • Save everything in Supabase so my phone and the shop computer show the same stock.
  • Add a supplier name and phone number to each product.
  • Add a button to export the stock list to a spreadsheet.

Publish it

Press Publish at the top of the project, then Publish to GenVibe. In under a minute the app is live on a free genvibe.app address on every plan, like our demo. Free accounts show a small "Made with GenVibe" badge.

On a paid plan you can use your own domain instead, without the badge. You can also push the code to your own GitHub, or deploy it to your own Netlify account.

Questions

Can I build an inventory app without coding?

Yes. You describe how you keep stock today and GenVibe’s AI writes the app. Our demo came from one paragraph, and we typed no code.

Can I import my products from a spreadsheet?

Copy the rows from your spreadsheet, paste them into the chat and ask the AI to load them. Once Supabase is connected, the AI can store them there.

Can it scan barcodes?

Not in this first build. The AI suggested barcode lookup as a next step; ask for it in the chat.

Can my staff use it on their phones?

Yes, it works in a phone’s browser. To share one stock count between phones, connect Supabase and ask the AI to save the stock there.

Can it warn me when something runs low?

Yes. Each product has a warning level; the app shows a banner, a red count and a reorder list when stock falls to it. You can set a different level for each product.

How much did this cost?

This build used 8.4 credits, about $0.84 at the smallest credit pack ($5 for 50 credits). It fits inside the 20 free credits every new account gets once, with no card. Plans start at $12 a month for 100 credits, and publishing to a genvibe.app address is included on every plan.
