About GenVibe

Why it exists

Most people who want an app are not developers. The AI builders that came first were priced for developers and built websites only. A shop owner who wanted an app for their customers, a student with an idea, a coach who wanted bookings on a phone: all of them were told to learn to code, hire someone, or settle for a website in a wrapper.

GenVibe was built so that those people can describe what they want and get a working web app or a real phone app, with a live preview while it builds, a database and sign-in when needed, a free live URL, and a path to Google Play from the same chat. For the price of a lunch a month, with the code theirs to keep.

Who makes it

GenVibe is built and run by its founder, Balram Kapoor. He writes the product, answers every support email at [email protected] and writes the product updates. He is based in India; customers are everywhere and are billed in US dollars.

What we believe

• A phone app should be a real phone app, not a website in a wrapper.
• Say what the product cannot do as clearly as what it can. Our product page has a “not here yet” list for that reason.
• The code belongs to the person who made the app: push it to GitHub, download it, host it anywhere.
• Keep the price low enough that trying is not a decision.
