The short answer: pick Lovable if you aren't a developer and want a web app that looks finished quickly. Pick Replit if you want a mobile app, or a real code workspace you can grow into. Lovable starts at $25 a month and is web only. Replit starts at $20, builds web and mobile apps, and can send iPhone apps to the App Store.
Full disclosure: GenVibe, the third option at the end, is our product. Lovable and Replit facts below come from their own pricing pages and docs, checked on October 26, 2026.

Where Lovable wins
- Made for non-developers. You describe changes in a chat and watch the preview. You can go a long way without opening a file.
- Polished design by default. Lovable's first drafts tend to look finished, which matters for landing pages, dashboards and SaaS products.
- Easier to predict. Lovable publishes examples: a small style change is about 0.5 credits and a new page about 2. Five free credits a day come on top of the plan.
- No seat pricing. Every plan allows unlimited members, so a team shares one credit balance.
Where it falls short: no mobile apps, and on the free plan you can't edit code inside Lovable, download a ZIP, connect a custom domain or remove the "Edit with Lovable" badge. See Lovable pricing explained.
Where Replit wins
- Mobile apps. Replit Agent builds React Native apps with Expo. You test on your phone with Expo Go, or in a cloud iPhone simulator or Android emulator on paid plans, and a launch wizard submits the app to the App Store through your Apple developer account.
- A real workspace. Files, a terminal, packages and any language. If you outgrow the AI, you can keep working in the same place, or hand it to a developer.
- More than web apps. Backend services, scripts, bots and data tools all run on Replit.
- Hosting and databases in one bill. Publishing, databases and storage come out of the same monthly credits as building.
Where it falls short: effort-based pricing is hard to predict before a big change (Replit does ask you to confirm paid work first), Core credits don't roll over, the free plan's app goes offline after 30 days unless you publish it again, and Replit says Google Play publishing isn't supported yet. See Replit pricing explained.
Which should you choose?
- A web app or landing page, and you don't code: Lovable.
- An iPhone app on the App Store: Replit (Lovable can't).
- An Android app on Google Play: neither does it from the chat today; see the third option below.
- You're learning to code, or will hire a developer: Replit.
- A team sharing one budget: Lovable, with no per-seat pricing.
A third option: GenVibe
GenVibe builds web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps from a prompt, a Figma design or a screenshot, in a chat that stays as simple as Lovable's. You test the mobile app on your phone while it builds, and on paid plans you can build the Android app and send it to Google Play from the chat. Publishing to a live link is free on every plan, and paid plans start at $12 a month for 100 credits ($9 for the first month).
Where it loses: Replit already publishes iPhone apps to the App Store, which GenVibe doesn't yet. Replit is also a full development workspace, Lovable's default design is more polished, and GenVibe's free plan is 20 credits once, not a daily allowance.

Frequently asked questions
Lovable or Replit: which is better?
Lovable is better for non-technical builders who want a polished web app with little prompting. Replit is better if you want mobile apps, a full code editor and terminal, or projects that aren’t web apps. Lovable is web only; Replit builds web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps.
Is Replit cheaper than Lovable?
Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) and includes $20 of credits; Lovable Pro is $25 a month for 100 credits plus 5 a day. They count differently: Replit charges each finished request by how much work it took, and hosting and databases also come out of your credits. Lovable’s credits pay for building, and its free daily credits come on top.
Can Lovable or Replit build mobile apps?
Replit can. Its Agent builds React Native apps with Expo, you preview them on your phone with Expo Go, and a launch wizard sends the app to the Apple App Store. Replit says publishing to Google Play is not yet supported. Lovable builds web apps only.
Which is easier for beginners, Lovable or Replit?
Lovable. It is built around a chat and a live preview, and you rarely see code. Replit is a full development workspace with files, a terminal and settings, which is powerful but more to learn.
Do unused credits roll over on Lovable and Replit?
On Lovable’s monthly plans, unused credits expire two months after they are issued, so they carry over for one extra month. On Replit Core, unused monthly credits don’t carry over; on Replit Pro they roll over for two months.
Is there an alternative that publishes mobile apps to Google Play?
Yes. GenVibe builds web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps from a prompt, a Figma design or a screenshot, and on paid plans can build the Android app and send it to Google Play from the chat. It is free to start with 20 credits and no card; paid plans start at $12 a month for 100 credits ($9 for the first month).
