The short answer: Base44 has a free plan and four paid plans. Free gives you 25 message credits a month. Billed monthly, Starter is $20, Builder $50, Pro $100 and Elite $200. Yearly billing takes 20% off, which is why the pricing page shows $16, $40, $80 and $160. Each plan has two balances: message credits for building, and integration credits for what your app does once people use it.
Below is what each plan includes, how both kinds of credits work, and what happens when one runs out. All prices are from Base44's pricing page and FAQ, checked on October 11, 2026.

Is Base44 free?
Yes. The free plan includes Base44's core features, with tight limits on building:
- 5 messages a day, 25 a month. Once you've used 25, you wait for the next month.
- 100 integration credits. Enough to test your app's AI or email features, not to run them for real users.
- Logins and a database are included, and your app is hosted for you.
- No custom domain or in-app code edits. Both start on Starter.
Twenty-five messages is enough for a small first app. To compare free plans across tools, see the free AI app builder roundup.
Message credits vs integration credits
This is the part of Base44's pricing people miss:
- Message credits are spent when you build: every time the AI creates, changes or refines your app. Complex apps and long back-and-forth use more, and the amount depends on the action and the AI model.
- Integration credits are spent when your app's users do something that calls an integration: an AI model, a file upload, image understanding or generation, an email or a text message. Each call costs 1 credit, whichever integration it is.
So an app that answers questions with AI uses an integration credit every time a user asks one. On Starter, 2,000 a month is about 66 a day across all your users.
What happens when credits run out
- Daily limit (free plan): you can send more messages the next day.
- Monthly limit: you can't send messages or make integration requests until your next billing cycle, unless you upgrade.
The second point matters for live apps: if integration credits run out mid-month, the AI, email and file features inside your app stop working for your users until the cycle resets. If your app depends on them, pick a plan with headroom.
What each paid plan adds
- Starter: unlimited apps, in-app code edits, a custom domain and a free domain for one year.
- Builder: GitHub integration, Stripe payments and early access to beta features.
- Pro: choosing the AI model yourself, and premium support.
- Elite: the most credits and dedicated support.
Note that GitHub and Stripe need Builder or higher, so an app that takes payments starts at $50 a month billed monthly.
Can Base44 build mobile apps?
Base44 builds web apps. It can generate App Store and Google Play files, but those apps load your live site in a web view; they aren't React Native or native apps. That works for simple tools, but App Store reviewers are strict about apps that are only a website. If you need a real mobile app, see the best React Native app builders.
Which Base44 plan should you choose?
- Free to try Base44 and build a small first app.
- Starter for a personal project with a custom domain and light AI or email use.
- Builder if your app takes payments with Stripe or you need GitHub. This is the realistic plan for most small businesses.
- Pro or Elite if your app's users make heavy use of AI features, or you build several apps at once.
A cheaper option: GenVibe
If you want a lower monthly price, or a real mobile app, GenVibe builds web and React Native apps from a prompt, Figma design or screenshot:
| Base44 | GenVibe | |
|---|---|---|
| Free start | 25 messages a month | 20 credits, no card |
| Entry paid plan | $20/mo billed monthly ($16 yearly), 100 messages | $12/mo, 100 credits ($9 first month) |
| Mobile apps | Web view of your site | React Native / Expo, run them on your phone |
| Hosting | Built in | Included on every plan, no credits used |
| Custom domain | Starter and up | Paid plans |
| Figma and screenshot import | Yes | Yes |
Where Base44 wins: everything is built in, including hosting, logins and a database, and its free plan renews every month, while GenVibe's 20 free credits are a one-time start. If you want the simplest all-in-one tool for web apps, it's a good choice. Frequently asked questions
Is Base44 free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 5 messages a day, up to 25 a month, plus 100 integration credits for your app’s AI, email and file features. It includes Base44’s core features, such as logins and a database. A custom domain starts on the Starter plan.
How much does Base44 cost per month?
Billed monthly, Base44 Starter is $20, Builder $50, Pro $100 and Elite $200. Billed yearly, they are $16, $40, $80 and $160 a month. The pricing page shows the yearly prices by default. Enterprise is custom.
What are Base44 integration credits?
Integration credits pay for what your app’s users do, not for building. Each time your app calls an integration, such as an AI model, a file upload, image generation, an email or a text message, it uses 1 credit. Message credits are separate and pay for building with the AI.
What happens when I run out of Base44 credits?
If you reach the daily message limit, you can send more the next day. If you reach your monthly limit, you can’t send messages or make integration requests until your next billing cycle, unless you upgrade. That means AI and email features inside your live app stop working too.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Base44?
GenVibe builds web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps from a prompt, Figma design or screenshot. It’s free to start with 20 credits and no card, and paid plans start at $12/month for 100 credits ($9 for the first month), with a custom domain and free hosting on paid plans.
