Replit Pricing (2026): Is Replit Free?

Every Replit plan explained: what Starter gets you for free, what Core’s $20 of credits covers, how Agent’s effort-based pricing works, and what hosting your app costs.

Balram Kapoor

The short answer: Replit has four plans. Starter is free, with a daily allowance for Agent and one published app. Core is $20/month ($18 billed yearly) and includes $20 of credits each month. Pro is $100/month ($90 billed yearly) for teams of up to 15. Enterprise is custom. On paid plans, the credits pay for both building with Agent and running your app, and usage beyond them is billed as you go.

Below is what each plan includes, how Agent and hosting use your credits, and how to keep the bill predictable. All prices are from Replit's pricing page and documentation, checked on October 11, 2026.

Replit plans and prices at a glance

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyIncluded
Starter$0n/aDaily Agent credits, 1 published app
Core$20$18/mo$20 of credits a month, up to 5 builders
Pro$100$90/moTiered credits that roll over, up to 15 builders
EnterpriseCustomCustomSSO/SAML, custom seats, single-tenant options

Core and Pro also include Free Mode, an allowance of no-cost Agent work for everyday tasks. Paid work (the stronger Power and Max modes) comes out of your credits.

Is Replit free?

Yes. The Starter plan lets you build and publish without paying, within these limits:

  • Daily Agent credits. They reset every day, up to a monthly cap.
  • Lite build only. Starter gets the fast, focused build mode for targeted changes. The autonomous "Full build", Plan Mode and third-party connectors need Core.
  • One published app, for 30 days. It goes offline after 30 days unless you publish it again, and it carries a "Made with Replit" badge.
  • Web and mobile apps only. Other project types, such as slide decks, data visualizations and videos, need Core.

That's enough to learn Replit and ship a small experiment. To compare Starter with other free plans, see the free AI app builder roundup.

How Replit Agent is billed

Replit calls its model effort-based pricing. When Agent finishes a request, it creates a checkpoint, and that checkpoint's price reflects the work it took:

  • Small requests like bug fixes and small changes usually cost less.
  • Complex builds like full features or integrations are bundled into one checkpoint, which can cost more.
  • Confirmation first. Replit asks before a paid action starts, and in the paid path even Plan Mode reasoning can be billed when it doesn't change code.
  • AI features inside Agent (such as image generation) are charged at the provider's public API rate, from the same credits.

You can see each checkpoint's cost by hovering the usage icon in the Agent tab. Usage can take up to 30 minutes to appear on the dashboard.

What it costs to keep your app online

On Replit, hosting is usage-based and comes out of the same monthly credits as Agent. Prices dropped on August 1, 2026. Replit's own examples:

AppTrafficAbout
Small business website500 visitors a day$2.39/month
API service10,000 calls a day$4.50/month
Always-on server (shared VM)0.5 vCPU, 2 GB RAM$15/month
Static siteAnyFree hosting + $0.05 per GB transferred

A production database adds compute time ($0.16 per hour) and storage ($0.35 per GB a month). For a small app this is a few dollars a month, but it is taken from the same $20 you use for building on Core.

Do Replit credits roll over?

  • Core: no. Unused monthly credits are gone at the end of the month.
  • Pro: yes, for two months.
  • After your credits run out: paid plans switch to pay-as-you-go, so work doesn't stop. Set usage alerts and a budget limit in your billing settings if you want a hard cap.

Which Replit plan should you choose?

  • Starter to try Agent or build a short-lived prototype.
  • Core if you want to keep apps online, use the full Agent and connect services like Stripe or Google. Set a budget so building and hosting together stay near $20.
  • Pro for a team of up to 15 that wants pooled credits with rollover, 10 parallel tasks and priority support.

A cheaper option: GenVibe

Frequently asked questions

Is Replit free?

Yes. The Starter plan is free: Agent with a daily credit allowance, the faster “Lite” build mode, and one published app. That free app goes offline after 30 days unless you publish it again, and it shows a “Made with Replit” badge.

How much does Replit Core cost?

Replit Core is $20/month, or $18/month billed yearly. It includes $20 of monthly credits for paid Agent work, publishing, databases and storage, plus a no-cost Free Mode allowance for everyday Agent work. Core allows up to 5 builders.

How does Replit charge for Agent?

Replit uses effort-based pricing. Each request becomes one checkpoint when Agent finishes the work, and its price depends on how complex the work was: a small fix costs less than a full feature. Replit asks you to confirm before a paid action starts.

Do Replit credits roll over?

Not on Core: unused monthly credits don’t carry over to the next month. On Pro, unused credits roll over for two months. Once your credits run out, paid plans continue on pay-as-you-go billing, which you can cap with budget limits.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Replit?

GenVibe builds web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps from a prompt, Figma design or screenshot, with hosting included. It’s free to start with 20 credits and no card, and paid plans start at $12/month for 100 credits ($9 for the first month).
