v0 Pricing (2026): Is v0 by Vercel Free?

Every v0 plan explained: what the free plan allows, what Plus and Business cost per user, how token-based credits get used, and a cheaper option for complete apps.

Balram Kapoor

The short answer: v0 has four plans. Free allows 7 messages a day, and new users get $5 of credits once. Plus is $30 per user per month with $30 of credits. Business is $100 per user per month. Enterprise is custom. Every message is billed in tokens at the rate of the model you pick, and paid plans are priced per seat.

Below is what each plan includes, how credits are spent, and what that means for the cost of an app. All prices are from v0's pricing page and documentation, checked on October 11, 2026.

v0 plans and prices at a glance

PlanPriceCredits
Free$0$5 once for new users, 7 messages a day
Plus$30 per user/month$30 per user a month + $2 per day you log in
Business$100 per user/month$30 per user a month + $2 per day you log in

Business includes the same credits as Plus. The extra $70 per user buys training opt-out by default: your chats and code aren't used to train models. Enterprise adds SAML SSO, role-based access, priority access and support SLAs. Paid plans can buy more credits at any time, shared across the team. The older $20 Premium plan is no longer offered to new users.

Is v0 free?

Yes, but the free plan changed in 2026:

  • New users get $5 of credits once, not every month. Free users who signed up before the change keep a $5 monthly allowance.
  • 7 messages a day at most.
  • Deploy and GitHub sync are included. You can deploy to Vercel and keep your code in GitHub on the free plan.

With the larger models, $5 goes quickly, so treat the free plan as a trial. For free plans that let you keep building every month, see the free AI app builder roundup.

How v0 credits are spent

v0 bills by tokens: the text it reads (your prompt, the chat so far and your code) and the text it writes. Each model has its own rate, per million tokens:

ModelInputCache readOutput
v0 Mini$0.20$0.02$1.20
v0 Pro$2$0.20$10
v0 Max$5$0.50$25
v0 Max Fast$10$1$50

Three things follow from token billing:

  1. Your model choice sets the price. Max costs about 20 times as much as Mini for the same output. Hover over a model in v0's model picker to see its cost.
  2. Long chats get more expensive. Every message re-reads the conversation and code; cached reads are cheaper, but they still count.
  3. Big outputs dominate. Writing code (output) costs five to six times more than reading it (input) on every model.

Do v0 credits roll over?

  • Monthly credits: roll over to the next billing cycle and expire 65 days after they're issued.
  • Purchased credits: expire one year after purchase.

The per-seat cost for teams

v0's paid plans are priced per user. A solo builder on Plus pays $30 a month; a team of three pays $90; on Business, three people pay $300. If several people only need to look at or test the app, check whether they really need a paid seat before adding them.

What v0 builds

v0 is at its best generating polished React and Next.js interfaces, and deploying them to Vercel in one click. It builds web apps: there's no React Native or native mobile output. For a backend, logins and a database, you connect services yourself (for example through Vercel's integrations), so plan for that work.

Which v0 plan should you choose?

  • Free to try v0 on a small component or page.
  • Plus if you generate UI most days. Use v0 Mini or Pro for routine work and save Max for hard problems.
  • Business if your company needs its data kept out of AI training by default. It has the same credits as Plus, at $100 per person.

A cheaper option: GenVibe

If you need a complete app rather than just the interface, GenVibe builds the whole thing, web or mobile, for less and without per-seat pricing:

v0GenVibe
Free start$5 of credits once, 7 messages a day20 credits, no card
Entry paid plan$30 per user/month$12/mo, 100 credits ($9 first month)

Where v0 wins: its UI generation is among the best, and it fits naturally if you already deploy on Vercel. If you want a full app with a backend, or an iPhone and Android version, for under half the price, try GenVibe free → or read the best v0 alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

Is v0 free?

Yes, with limits. The free plan allows 7 messages a day. New users get $5 of credits once, when they sign up; free users who joined before that change keep a $5 monthly allowance. You can deploy to Vercel and sync with GitHub on the free plan.

How much does v0 cost per month?

v0 Plus is $30 per user per month and includes $30 of credits per user, plus $2 of free credits each day you log in. Business is $100 per user per month with the same $30 of credits; the difference is that your data is kept out of AI training by default. Enterprise is custom. Because pricing is per user, a team of three on Plus pays $90 a month.

How does v0 charge for messages?

v0 bills by tokens, deducted from your credits. Each model has its own rate per million tokens: v0 Mini is $0.20 input and $1.20 output, v0 Pro $2 and $10, v0 Max $5 and $25, and v0 Max Fast $10 and $50. Longer chats and bigger outputs cost more.

Do v0 credits roll over?

Yes. Unused monthly credits roll over to the next billing cycle and expire 65 days after they were issued. Credits you buy separately expire one year after purchase.

Is there a cheaper alternative to v0?

GenVibe builds complete web apps and React Native (Expo) mobile apps from a prompt, Figma design or screenshot, with a database, logins and hosting. It’s free to start with 20 credits and no card, and paid plans start at $12/month for 100 credits ($9 for the first month), not per seat.
