The short answer: go to Billing in your Replit settings (replit.com/settings/billing), choose to cancel your subscription and complete the confirmation steps. You keep Core or Pro until the end of the billing period, then move to the free Starter plan, where published apps may go offline and custom domains are removed. Refunds are by request, and usage charges aren't refundable.
These steps come from Replit's own docs, checked on October 30, 2026. GenVibe, mentioned at the end, is our product.
How to cancel Replit, step by step
- Open Billing. Sign in at replit.com, click your profile icon, then Settings, then Billing (replit.com/settings/billing).
- Fix a failed payment first. If your subscription shows as past_due, a payment failed. Update your payment method and settle it before you cancel.
- Choose to cancel. Select the option to cancel your subscription in the subscription section of Billing.
- Complete the confirmation steps. Follow the confirmation steps. On Pro you’re offered a move to Core instead, and some subscribers are offered a one-month pause. You keep your plan until the end of the billing period.
Two offers may appear on the way. On Pro, Replit offers to move you to Core instead, which keeps a paid plan and your published apps running; Core is $20 a month against Pro's $100. And if you qualify, you'll see a one-month pause instead of cancelling.
What happens after you cancel
| Thing | On the Starter plan |
|---|---|
| Your plan | Core or Pro features until the end of the billing period |
| Published apps | May go offline; Starter allows one free published app, which goes down after 30 days |
| Custom domains | Connections are removed |
| Storage | Reduced to Starter's limits |
| Agent | A daily allowance with a monthly cap, Lite build only |
| "Made with Replit" badge | Shown on Starter's published app |
| Refund | By request after you cancel; Agent, AI and domain charges aren't refundable |
Pause instead of cancelling
If the pause is offered, it lasts one month and you can use it only once. Your next payment is skipped and no monthly credits are added. Published projects stay live, collaborators keep access, eligible credits roll over and credit packs stay usable, but Agent and hosting use is still billed pay-as-you-go. Billing shows a Paused badge, and the subscription restarts by itself on the end date.
Refunds and surprise charges
- Asking for a refund: cancel first, then contact Replit Support from your account email with your reason. The support team decides eligibility for each account and plan.
- Never refunded: Agent and AI usage, because the computing already happened, and custom domain registrations.
- A charge after cancelling usually means usage from before you cancelled reached its billing threshold later, or a retry of an earlier failed payment. Check it under Account usage, then See previous invoices.
- Don't start with a chargeback. Replit says disputing a charge with your bank can lock your account; contact support first.
Before you cancel
Download anything you want to keep, because published apps may go offline on Starter. If customers use a custom domain, point it somewhere else before the period ends. And if you only need a cheaper month, compare plans in our Replit pricing guide first.

Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel my Replit subscription?
Go to Billing in your Replit settings (replit.com/settings/billing), select the option to cancel your subscription and complete the confirmation steps. You keep your plan’s features until the end of the billing period, then your account moves to the free Starter plan.
Can I get a refund from Replit?
You can ask. Cancel first, then contact Replit Support from your account email with your reason; the support team decides refund eligibility for each account and plan. Agent and AI usage charges and domain registrations are non-refundable.
What happens to my published apps when I cancel Replit?
Replit warns that published apps may go offline, custom domain connections are removed and storage is reduced when you move to Starter. Starter includes one free published app, which goes down after 30 days and carries the “Made with Replit” badge. Download anything you want to keep first.
Can I pause my Replit subscription instead of cancelling?
Some subscribers can pause for one month; if you qualify, the option appears when you go to cancel. Your next payment is skipped and no monthly credits are added, published projects stay live, and Agent and hosting use is billed pay-as-you-go. You can pause only once.
Why was I charged after cancelling Replit?
Usually because usage from before you cancelled reached its billing threshold after your cancellation date, or because Replit retried an earlier failed payment. Check the invoice under Account usage, See previous invoices, and contact support with the payment ID (it starts with pi_) if it still looks wrong.
I subscribed in the Replit mobile app. How do I cancel?
Replit’s docs say Apple or Google handles the billing for subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play, so that subscription is managed in your App Store or Google Play account, not in Replit’s Billing page.
