The short answer: Bolt.new has four plans. Free gives you 1 million tokens a month, at most 300,000 a day. Pro is $25/month and starts at 10 million tokens a month with no daily limit. Teams is $30 per member per month. Enterprise is custom. Bolt charges in tokens, not credits, and how many a message uses depends mostly on how big your project is.
Below is what each plan includes, how tokens get used up, and what to watch for as a project grows. All prices are from Bolt's pricing page and help center, checked on October 11, 2026.
Bolt.new plans and prices at a glance
| Plan | Price | Tokens | Daily limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1M a month | 300K |
| Pro | $25/month | From 10M a month | None |
| Teams | $30 per member/month | Per member, not shared | None |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Prices are for monthly billing. Yearly billing saves up to 28%. Pro comes in bigger token tiers too: you choose the amount when you upgrade, and the price goes up with it.
Is Bolt.new free?
Yes. The free plan is a real working plan, with limits that matter once you build every day:
- 1M tokens a month, 300K a day. In a small new project that's a fair amount of building. In a larger one, each message uses more, so the daily cap arrives sooner.
- Hosting is included. Free sites get website hosting, up to 333,000 web requests and unlimited databases.
- Bolt branding, no custom domain. Published sites show Bolt branding, and custom domains start on Pro.
- Smaller uploads. Files up to 10MB, against 100MB on Pro.

How Bolt tokens get used
A token is a small piece of text the AI reads or writes. Bolt's own explanation is the key to its pricing: most token usage comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so "the larger the project, the more tokens used per message."
That has three practical effects:
- The same prompt gets more expensive as your app grows. "Change the header color" costs more in a 40-file app than in a 5-file one, because more of the project is sent along with it.
- Fix loops add up. If the AI needs three attempts to fix an error, you pay for all three, each with the whole project in context.
- Big projects drain the free plan fastest. The 300K daily cap can go in a handful of messages on a large app.
Two habits keep usage down: start a fresh project for unrelated experiments, and describe changes precisely so the first attempt lands.
Do Bolt tokens roll over?
- Paid plans: since July 1, 2025, unused subscription tokens roll over for one extra month, so each month's tokens last two months in total. You need an active paid subscription to use them.
- Reloads: tokens you buy on top of your plan don't expire.
- Free plan: no rollover.
What Pro and Teams add
- Pro: no daily limit, no Bolt branding, custom domains, sharing sites privately, 100MB uploads, hosting up to 1 million web requests, "SEO boosting", more database capacity with a choice of database provider, and image editing with AI.
- Teams: everything in Pro, plus central billing, team access management, admin controls with user provisioning, and private npm registries. Each member has their own tokens; they aren't pooled.
Which Bolt plan should you choose?
- Free to try Bolt or build a small site within 300K tokens a day.
- Pro if you build most days or your project has outgrown the daily cap. Start at 10M tokens and move up only if you run out.
- Teams if several people need central billing and admin controls. Remember tokens are per person.
A cheaper option: GenVibe
If you want a lower monthly price and a cost that's easier to predict, GenVibe builds the same kinds of apps, web and mobile, from a prompt, Figma design or screenshot:
| Bolt.new | GenVibe | |
|---|---|---|
| Free start | 1M tokens a month (300K a day) | 20 credits, no card |
| Entry paid plan | $25/mo, from 10M tokens | $12/mo, 100 credits ($9 first month) |
| Billing unit | Tokens, growing with project size | Credits, metered by the AI's work |
| Mobile apps (React Native / Expo) | Yes | Yes, run them on your phone |
| Publish to a live URL | Yes, every plan | Yes, every plan |
| Custom domain | Pro and up | Paid plans |
| Figma and screenshot import | Yes | Yes |
GenVibe also lets the AI choose a model your balance can finish with (Auto), so a build doesn't stall halfway: on the free plan, Auto built a 10-feature task manager for 2.07 credits.
Where Bolt wins: its free tokens renew every month and its paid tokens roll over, while GenVibe's 20 free credits are a one-time start. If you're happy on Bolt's free plan, stay. If $25 a month is too much, or token use keeps surprising you, try GenVibe free → or see Bolt vs GenVibe in detail.
