How to Cancel Your Emergent Subscription

The steps on the web, in the app and in Stripe, what happens to your credits and published apps, and how to claim a refund for the credits you didn’t use.

The short answer: in Emergent, go to Settings, then Billing, select Cancel subscription and confirm. It takes effect at the end of your billing cycle. Unlike most AI builders, Emergent refunds the unused part of your subscription credits once you've cancelled: email support@emergent.sh to ask.

These steps come from Emergent's own help center, checked on October 30, 2026. GenVibe, mentioned at the end, is our product.

How to cancel Emergent, step by step

  1. Open Billing. In the Emergent web app or mobile app, go to Settings, then Billing.
  2. Select Cancel subscription. Select Cancel subscription. If you subscribed through Stripe Checkout, you can instead click Manage billing to open the Stripe customer portal and cancel there.
  3. Confirm. Confirm the cancellation. Your subscription stays active, with its remaining credits, until the end of the current billing cycle.
  4. Ask for a refund of unused credits. Once cancelled, email support@emergent.sh with your account email and billing date to request a prorated refund of your unused subscription credits.

What happens after you cancel

ThingWhat happens
Subscription creditsUsable until the end of the billing period, then they expire
Top-up creditsNever expire; you can spend them on the Free plan
Your appsKept; you can view and test them, export the code and download assets
Published appsStay live only while your credits cover the publishing tier (at least 50 credits a month)
New builds and changesNeed top-up credits or a plan; looking at your apps stays free
RefundProrated, for unused subscription credits, on request

The publishing row is the one that surprises people. Each published app runs on a tier billed in credits every month: Starter 50, Launch 125, Grow 225, Scale 450 and Elite 1,100. Once your subscription credits are gone, only top-up credits can keep an app live, and the Free plan can't publish to production at all.

How to get a refund from Emergent

  1. Cancel your subscription first.
  2. Email support@emergent.sh with your account email and billing date. A short reason helps.
  3. Support checks your usage and eligibility, usually within 1 to 2 business days.
  4. An approved refund reaches your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

The refund covers unused subscription credits, minus what your published apps used. Top-up credits are final. And don't start with a chargeback: disputing the payment with your bank before contacting support suspends your account automatically.

Before you cancel

  • Have top-up credits left? Emergent suggests moving to the Free plan instead of cancelling, so you keep your apps and can spend the credits over time.
  • Cancelling over cost or a missing feature? Emergent says it sometimes offers student, educator or non-profit discounts, longer trials or custom credit packages. Ask support@emergent.sh before you go.
  • Keep a copy of your work. Export the code and download your assets while you still have credits to keep things running.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my Emergent subscription?

In the Emergent web or mobile app, go to Settings, then Billing, select Cancel subscription and confirm. You can also click Manage billing to cancel in the Stripe customer portal. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle.

Does Emergent give refunds?

Yes, for unused subscription credits. After you cancel, you can get a prorated dollar refund of the subscription credits you didn’t use, minus what your published apps used. Email support@emergent.sh with your account email and billing date; review takes 1 to 2 business days and the refund 5 to 10. Top-up credits are not refundable.

What happens to my Emergent credits when I cancel?

Subscription credits stay usable until the end of the billing period, then expire. Top-up credits never expire, and you can keep using them on the Free plan.

Will my Emergent app stay online after I cancel?

Your apps are kept, but a published app stays live only while your credits cover its publishing tier, which costs at least 50 credits a month. Without enough credits it goes offline. You can still view, test and share apps, export the code and download assets.

Should I downgrade to Free instead of cancelling?

If you have unused top-up credits, Emergent suggests moving to the Free plan rather than cancelling outright, so you keep access to your apps and can spend those credits over time.

What if I already disputed the charge with my bank?

A chargeback filed before contacting support suspends your Emergent account automatically. Email support@emergent.sh straight away with the details; Emergent says accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be closed for good.
